Position: Business Development Manager – Air & Ocean Freight
Location: East Coast, USA (Remote / Flexible)
Salary: $120,000 + uncapped commission + benefits


Company Overview

Altius Talent is partnering with a growing international freight forwarder looking to expand their U.S. commercial team. With a strong global network and established presence across key trade lanes, the business offers end-to-end Air and Ocean freight solutions to a diverse customer base.

As part of their continued growth across the East Coast, they are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive new business and develop long-term client relationships.


Role Summary

This is a hunter-focused sales role responsible for generating new business across Air and Ocean freight. The position offers flexibility on location across the Eastern U.S., with a focus on building a strong pipeline and closing new accounts.

You will own the full sales cycle and work closely with internal teams to deliver tailored logistics solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities across Air & Ocean freight
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to closing
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline to consistently achieve sales targets
  • Develop relationships with key decision-makers across various industries
  • Conduct client meetings, presentations, and commercial negotiations
  • Collaborate with pricing and operations teams to deliver competitive solutions
  • Provide accurate forecasting and pipeline reporting
  • Stay up to date with market trends, trade lanes, and customer demands

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in freight forwarding / logistics sales
  • Strong knowledge of Air & Ocean freight products
  • Proven track record of winning new business
  • Self-motivated with a strong hunter mentality
  • Ability to operate independently in a remote / field-based role
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and closing skills
