We are seeking an experienced Customs Entry Writer to support a premier, global freight forwarding, NVOCC, and customs brokerage operation at their high-volume New York hub.
This position is responsible for processing complex US Customs entries, managing account-specific import workflows across major global trade lanes (with a heavy focus on Asia-Pacific and European imports), and ensuring strict compliance with all government guidelines while delivering high-level client support.
The role requires hands-on technical expertise within a fast-paced customs house brokerage or international freight forwarding environment.

This position is responsible for processing complex US Customs entries, managing account-specific import workflows across major global trade lanes (with a heavy focus on Asia-Pacific and European imports), and ensuring strict compliance with all government guidelines while delivering high-level client support.
The role requires hands-on technical expertise within a fast-paced customs house brokerage or international freight forwarding environment.
Core Industry Experience
- US Customs Compliance, HTS Classification, CBP Regulations, Document Review, Bonds & Duties.
- Ocean/Air Import Operations, Global Supply Chain Logistics, Transpacific/Transatlantic Trade Lanes.
- ISF Filing (10+2), FDA Compliance, USDA Guidelines, FWS Clearances, EPA Filing.
- Account Management, Dedicated Customer Service, Milestone Tracking.
What You’ll Handle
- Process and submit accurate US Customs entries in accordance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations for diverse ocean and air import cargo.
- Review commercial invoices, bills of lading, and import documentation for completeness, verifying accuracy and proactively resolving discrepancies.
- Execute precise HTS classification for various commodities and manage timely, accurate Importer Security Filings (ISF 10+2).
- Submit required clearance and regulatory documentation to relevant Partner Government Agencies (PGAs) including FDA, USDA, FWS, and EPA.
- Liaise directly with CBP and PGA officers to facilitate the smooth, compliant release of cargo and resolve any exam or hold issues.
What Matters (Requirements)
- 2+ years of hands-on entry writing experience within a customs brokerage or international freight forwarding environment.
- Proficiency in industry-standard brokerage software (experience with CargoWise is highly preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, HTSUS classification codes, and Partner Government Agencies (PGA/OGA).
- Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and excellent verbal/written communication skills for interfacing with clients and federal agencies.
