Customs Compliance Specialist
Location: New York
Salary: $70,000 - $90,000

Position Overview
A leading global logistics and customs brokerage firm is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Customs Compliance Specialist to join our growing compliance team in the New York Metropolitan Area (In-Office).

This is an advanced, post-entry-focused role requiring deep operational knowledge of U.S. Customs brokerage, FDA-regulated cargo, Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) environments, and government agency compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently handle CBP Protests, Post Summary Corrections (PSC), Entry Amendments, and responses to Customs Audits (CF28/CF29).
  • Manage FDA exceptions (refusals, destructions, re-exports) and perform permit reviews for PGAs (FDA, USDA, EPA, DOT, FCC).
  • Facilitate FTZ admissions (e214 filings), bonded warehouse withdrawals, and related transfers.
  • Support Liquidated Damages mitigation, Prior Disclosures, Duty Drawback claims, and IEEPA/customs portal refund filings.
  • Monitor changing CBP/PGA regulations, maintain compliance documentation, and assist with corporate SOP development.


Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of direct experience in customs brokerage, import/trade compliance, and FTZ/PGA operations.
  • Deep knowledge of HTS classification, the ACE Portal, PSCs/Protests, and FDA refusal protocols.
  • Proficiency with standard broker ABI systems (experience with tier-one platforms like Descartes OneView is a plus).
  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) status, and experience with AD/CVD entries or FDA Prior Notice.
