Air Export Operator

Location: Los Angeles, CA
Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 + Benefits

A growing global freight forwarding company is seeking an experienced Air Export Operator to join its Los Angeles team. We are looking for an individual with at least 2 years of air export freight forwarding experience who can manage international air export shipments from start to finish while providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate international air export shipments from booking through to final delivery.
• Manage the full export process including documentation, compliance, and shipment tracking.
• Prepare and process export documentation including House Air Waybills (HAWB), Master Air Waybills (MAWB), commercial invoices, and shipping instructions.
• Liaise with airlines, overseas offices, agents, customers, trucking companies, and warehouses.
• Ensure all shipments comply with TSA, IATA, and international export regulations.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively communicate updates to customers.
• Coordinate cargo bookings with airlines and negotiate schedules where required.
• Handle billing, invoicing, and shipment profitability requirements.
• Resolve operational issues and provide solutions to ensure smooth movement of freight.
• Maintain accurate records within the company's operating systems.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of air export freight forwarding experience.
• Strong understanding of international air freight export procedures.
• Experience handling shipments from A-Z.
• Knowledge of export documentation and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with airline booking processes and cargo handling procedures.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with freight forwarding systems and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working within a freight forwarding environment.
• Knowledge of CargoWise or similar freight forwarding software.
• Familiarity with international trade regulations and customs processes.
• Experience handling time-critical, retail, pharmaceutical, aerospace, or general cargo shipments.
