Regional Sales Executive – Air & Ocean Freight

Location: North Carolina (Charlotte preferred)
Salary: Up to $100,000 Base Salary + Uncapped Commission + Full Benefits

Position Summary

The Regional Sales Executive will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities across North Carolina and the surrounding Southeast region. The role will focus primarily on Air Freight and Ocean Freight services, targeting importers, exporters, manufacturers, distributors, and other supply chain-driven organizations.

The successful candidate will be a proactive hunter with a strong understanding of the freight forwarding market and a proven track record of winning and developing new business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to generate new Air and Ocean Freight opportunities throughout North Carolina and the Southeast.
  • Identify, prospect, and secure new customers through cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events.
  • Conduct face-to-face and virtual sales meetings with prospective clients.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Prepare and present tailored logistics solutions aligned with customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with pricing, operations, and leadership teams to develop competitive proposals and RFQ responses.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and close profitable business opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate sales activity and pipeline updates within the CRM system.
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, trade lane developments, and customer challenges.
  • Develop long-term relationships with customers to encourage retention and account growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of freight forwarding sales experience.
  • Proven track record of generating new business within Air Freight and Ocean Freight services.
  • Strong understanding of international logistics, freight forwarding, and supply chain solutions.
  • Experience selling import and export transportation services.
  • Established network of contacts within the North Carolina and Southeast logistics market preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while managing a regional territory.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the territory.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience selling Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Customs Brokerage, and Domestic Transportation solutions.
  • Existing customer relationships within manufacturing, retail, automotive, industrial, healthcare, or consumer goods sectors.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms and freight forwarding operating systems.
