International Freight Forwarding Operations
We are seeking an experienced Export Manager to lead a dedicated logistics team at their New York hub.
This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of international export shipments—with a primary focus on Air and a secondary focus on Ocean—while ensuring absolute regulatory compliance and mentoring an operational team. A strong background in US customs, export security, and leadership is vital to success in this role.
The role requires hands-on technical expertise and strategic management experience within an international freight forwarding environment.

What You’ll Handle

Team Leadership: Direct, train, and mentor a fast-paced export team of 5 personnel, while providing secondary oversight and collaboration for the 2-person import department.

Operational Execution: Oversee and assist with end-to-end export workflows in CargoWise, including cargo booking, routing, tracking, bill of lading preparation, and warehouse procedures.

Compliance & Audit Readiness: Serve as the subject matter expert for TSA security screening, IATA regulations, and DG compliance; ensure the branch maintains total audit readiness at all times.

Financial & Rate Management: Execute accurate freight rate calculations and client quoting; leverage carrier relationships to negotiate competitive rates and optimize routing margins.

Documentation & Customs: Manage flawless AES filings, HTS classifications, bonded cargo movements, and complex Letter of Credit requirements.

Client & Business Development: Act as a proactive point of contact for high-value accounts, resolving cargo claims efficiently and fostering strong customer relationships to drive business growth.
What Matters

Proven management or supervisory experience within an international freight forwarding environment.

System Expertise: Direct, hands-on proficiency with CargoWise software is required.

Certifications: Must hold current DG (Dangerous Goods) and TSA certifications.

Deep technical knowledge of HTS, AES, US Customs regulations, and warehouse/gateway export procedures.

Strong communication and multitasking skills; a detail-oriented, safety-conscious leader who is highly responsive to client and team needs.
