Company Overview:

Our client is a leading freight forwarder with a specialized focus on project logistics, offering tailored solutions for the transportation of Out of Gauge (OOG), oversized, and project cargo. They are seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Manager to manage and grow sales within the Bavaria region.

Position Overview:

As the Project Logistics Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving new business opportunities and managing existing client relationships for project logistics across the Bavaria region. Your expertise in freight forwarding, especially in handling project cargo and general cargo, will be crucial to your success. You will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships, closing sales, and providing exceptional service to clients with complex logistical needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead business development activities for project cargo (OOG, oversized, and project shipments) across the Bavaria region.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities while nurturing existing relationships with clients in various industries.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets, focusing on both project and general cargo.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure smooth execution of shipments, from planning through to delivery.
  • Prepare and present tailored logistics solutions to clients, understanding their specific project needs.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic sales decisions.
  • Prepare and deliver regular sales reports to management, outlining key wins, opportunities, and forecasts.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to promote services and expand the customer base.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven track record in freight forwarding sales, with a focus on project cargo and general cargo.
  • Strong knowledge of project logistics.
  • Fluent in both German and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to present complex solutions clearly to clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering customer-oriented solutions.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with the logistics landscape and customer base in the Bavaria region is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in freight forwarding sales, particularly within project logistics and general cargo.
  • Demonstrated success in business development and achieving revenue targets in a competitive market.
