About the Role

 

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Customs Entry Writer to join their North Carolina office. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a traditional, paper-based freight forwarding environment and enjoys the regulatory detail of U.S. customs work. You will be responsible for processing import entries and ensuring compliance with all CBP regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Prepare and file accurate customs entries using documentation provided by importers, carriers, and brokers
  • Classify goods using the HTS tariff system and maintain compliance with U.S. import laws
  • Monitor the clearance process and communicate status updates with internal teams and customers
  • Ensure completeness of import documentation and follow up on discrepancies
  • Coordinate with CBP and other government agencies for timely release of shipments
  • Maintain organized records in line with audit and regulatory requirements

 

Candidate Requirements

 

  • 2+ years of experience in customs entry writing within a freight forwarding or brokerage environment
  • Strong understanding of U.S. customs procedures and HTS classification
  • Comfortable working with physical paperwork in a traditional office setting
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Must be based within commuting distance of the North Carolina office
