Work Arrangement: 4 days in-office | Fridays remote

Salary: Up to $60,000 per year + benefits

Overview

A growing freight forwarding company in Chicago is looking to add an Ocean Export Operator to its expanding operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ocean export professional who is looking to grow long-term with a forwarder that values development, stability, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end ocean export operations, managing shipments from booking through final documentation
• Coordinate with carriers, overseas agents, trucking providers, and customers to ensure timely and accurate execution
• Prepare and process all export documentation including Bills of Lading, shipping instructions, and related paperwork
• Manage customer communication, providing proactive updates and resolving shipment issues as they arise
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure compliance, accuracy, and service quality
• Support and manage export accounts

Requirements

• Proven experience in ocean export operations within a freight forwarding environment
• Experience working with automotive accounts is preferred but not essential
• Familiarity with CargoWise is preferred
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Customer-focused mindset with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
• Motivated professional who is willing to grow with the company
