Position: Account Executive – Air & Ocean Freight
Location: Chicago, IL
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience 


Company Overview

Our client is a well-established international freight forwarder with a strong presence across the U.S. and global network coverage. Known for delivering tailored Air & Ocean solutions, they support clients across a range of industries including manufacturing, retail, automotive, and healthcare.

Due to continued growth in the Chicago market, they are looking to hire an Account Executive to drive new business while managing and developing existing accounts.


Role Summary

The Account Executive will be responsible for generating new business opportunities across Air & Ocean freight, while also managing and growing a portfolio of existing customers. This is a true “hunter” role with a strong focus on building a pipeline, closing new accounts, and developing long-term client relationships.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities across Air & Ocean freight services
  • Develop and execute a structured sales plan targeting key industries and trade lanes
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to closing
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, identifying opportunities to grow accounts
  • Work closely with internal operations and pricing teams to deliver tailored logistics solutions
  • Attend client meetings, networking events, and industry functions within the Chicago market
  • Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and CRM updates

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in freight forwarding sales (Air & Ocean preferred)
  • Proven track record of winning new business and growing accounts
  • Strong understanding of international logistics, trade lanes, and pricing structures
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated with a proactive, hunter mentality
