About the Role
We are looking for a driven Business Development Manager to join a growing freight forwarding operation in Houston. You will be responsible for identifying and winning new business across air, ocean, and ground freight, while developing long-term relationships with clients across key industry verticals in the Houston market.
Responsibilities
Prospect and develop new business opportunities across air, ocean, and ground freight services
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of target accounts across Houston and the surrounding region
Attend client meetings, prepare proposals, and close new business
Work closely with operations to ensure a smooth transition from sale to execution
Develop relationships with key decision makers at importers, exporters, and manufacturing companies
Represent the company at industry events and networking functions
Meet and exceed monthly and annual revenue targets
Provide accurate forecasting and pipeline reporting to management
Requirements
3 or more years of business development experience within freight forwarding or a related logistics sector
Established network of contacts in the Houston market is a strong advantage
Solid understanding of air and ocean freight products and pricing
Proven track record of winning and growing accounts
Hunter mentality with the ability to self-generate leads and manage a full sales cycle
Strong communication and presentation skills
Based in Houston, TX or immediate surrounding area
