Import Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate air and ocean import shipments from pre-alert through delivery

• Open and manage files in CargoWise One

• Review and validate shipping documents (HBL/MBL, AWB, Commercial Invoice, Packing List)

• Arrange customs clearance with brokers and monitor cargo release

• Submit or manage ISF filings and AES when applicable

• Track shipments and proactively resolve delays, exams, or documentation issues

• Arrange delivery with trucking companies and warehouses

• Communicate shipment status updates to customers and overseas agents

• Verify billing, costs, and charges before invoicing

• Maintain compliance with U.S. Customs and company SOPs

Requirements

• 0–3 years experience in freight forwarding or logistics (import operations preferred)

• Experience using CargoWise One strongly preferred

• Basic knowledge of Incoterms and international shipping documentation

• Understanding of U.S. Customs clearance process (ISF, arrival notice, release)

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
