Role Summary
 The Business Development Manager will be responsible for securing new business across import and export air and ocean freight, expanding GP contribution, and building enduring client relationships. This is a strategic, hunter-focused role designed for a proven sales professional who can identify opportunities, win market share, and deliver results in a competitive forwarding landscape.
Key Responsibilities
-   Develop and execute a structured sales strategy targeting key verticals and trade lanes. 
-   Prospect, qualify, and secure new accounts across air and ocean freight services. 
-   Manage the full sales cycle from initial approach, RFI/RFQ response, rate negotiation, to closing. 
-   Collaborate with operations, pricing, and management teams to deliver competitive, service-led solutions. 
-   Maintain strong GP margins and deliver sustained revenue growth. 
-   Build deep client relationships to drive long-term retention and cross-sell opportunities (customs brokerage, warehousing, project cargo). 
-   Track pipeline activity, forecasting, and results through CRM and sales reporting tools. 
Candidate Profile
-   Minimum 3–5 years of proven sales success in freight forwarding (air and ocean). 
-   Established customer network in the New Jersey / Tri-State market. 
-   Strong understanding of international logistics, trade lanes, and compliance requirements. 
-   Hunter mentality with a track record of new business wins and consistent GP delivery. 
-   Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills. 
-   Self-driven, results-oriented, and able to operate both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
