Compensation: $80,000 – $86,000 per year

A global freight forwarding organization, ranked among the top logistics providers in Europe, is seeking a Licensed Customs Broker for its Houston brokerage office. The company specializes in chemical and industrial sectors, supporting complex import operations for multinational clients.

Position Overview
This role will oversee daily customs brokerage operations, ensuring full compliance with CBP and Partner Government Agencies (PGA) regulations. The position requires strong technical proficiency in entry review, classification, and post-entry processes, as well as leadership oversight of entry writers and import compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily customs brokerage functions to ensure regulatory compliance and operational accuracy.

• Support and guide entry writers on classification, tariffs, and entry procedures.

• Audit entries, file post-summary corrections, and coordinate with importers and internal teams.

• Liaise with carriers and manage communication with CBP and PGAs for timely release of shipments.

• Review and organize import documentation including invoices, bills of lading, and PGA filings (TSCA, Lacey Act, FDA, USDA).

• Prepare compliance reports and implement risk mitigation strategies across brokerage operations.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Customs Brokerage License (required).

• Minimum 2 years of entry writing experience across air, ocean, and truck modes.

• Strong understanding of Incoterms and import compliance standards.

• Experience with FDA and USDA declarations (food commodities preferred).

• Proficiency in NetCHB or similar brokerage software is advantageous.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership communication skills.
