Role Summary
The Import Traffic Coordinator is responsible for managing day-to-day import traffic functions and supporting the wider customer service and operations teams. The role focuses on issuing delivery orders, dispatching shipments for final delivery, and proactively following up to ensure cargo is collected and delivered within required timelines.
Key Responsibilities

Verify bill of lading details, piece counts, and container numbers against arrival notices and shipping documents

Confirm shipment arrival status and release availability at ports or rail yards

Monitor inland cargo movements to ensure containers are progressing to final destination

Update ETAs within internal systems and tracking tools, including related notes where applicable

Obtain and communicate pickup numbers to trucking providers, ensuring acknowledgement

Issue delivery orders to carriers and confirm receipt in writing where possible

Update internal systems with delivery order and dispatch details

Coordinate port checks or clean truck requests when required

Ensure cargo is removed from terminals or rail yards prior to last free day

Verify delivery dates are accurately entered by carriers when required

Obtain and record Proof of Delivery in line with client requirements

Monitor daily reports related to missing or outstanding delivery orders

Support customs examination processes, including coordination of payment where applicable

Ensure approved demurrage guarantees are in place prior to cargo release

Proactively advise customer service teams of any delivery delays so clients can be informed
Requirements

2–3 years of relevant experience within import traffic, logistics, or freight forwarding operations

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organisational, time management, and analytical abilities

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment

Team-oriented mindset with a proactive and detail-focused approach

Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access
