About the Company
Our client is a global freight forwarder with a strong footprint across air, ocean, and domestic logistics. Known for service reliability and a solution-driven approach, the business is expanding its U.S. commercial team and seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager to capture new opportunities in key trade lanes and vertical markets.

Position Overview
The Business Development Manager will focus on new business acquisition, targeting mid-market and enterprise shippers. This role requires a proven track record in securing new logos, developing strategic accounts, and collaborating with operations to deliver profitable, long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business across Air Import/Export, Ocean FCL/LCL, and Domestic Transport

  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, and leveraging industry relationships

  • Manage the full sales cycle including lead generation, discovery, pricing, proposals, and contract closure

  • Partner with operations, trade lane managers, and overseas offices to design solutions and ensure smooth onboarding

  • Monitor client performance, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term retention

  • Report accurately on pipeline activity and revenue forecasts to senior management

Candidate Profile

  • 5+ years of proven sales experience in international freight forwarding

  • Consistent record of delivering $750K–$1.5M+ annual GP and winning new logos

  • Strong knowledge of Transpacific, Transatlantic, and LATAM trade lanes

  • Established U.S. importer/exporter network across multiple industries (e.g. Automotive, Pharma, Technology, Industrial)

  • Solution-based seller with consultative approach and strong closing skills

  • Driven, resilient, and competitive, with excellent negotiation and communication abilities
