Position Overview
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for winning and expanding U.S. accounts with a focus on international freight forwarding solutions. The role requires a proven hunter who can originate, develop, and close opportunities, while collaborating with operations and senior management to deliver profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute a sales strategy targeting mid-market and enterprise shippers across diverse verticals including Automotive, Technology, Consumer Goods, and Industrial Manufacturing

Focus on securing new business across Air Import/Export, Ocean FCL/LCL, and U.S. Domestic Transport services

Drive revenue growth by prospecting, cold calling, networking, and leveraging personal industry contacts

Manage the complete sales cycle including lead generation, solution design, pricing negotiation, and contract closure

Collaborate with internal operations, trade lane managers, and overseas offices to ensure seamless onboarding and service delivery

Provide accurate forecasts and pipeline updates to senior leadership

Maintain a high level of market intelligence, competitor awareness, and trade lane performance data to drive commercial advantage
Candidate Profile

Minimum 5–7 years of proven business development experience in international freight forwarding

Track record of delivering $1M+ annual GP and consistently exceeding sales targets

Strong knowledge of Transpacific Eastbound (TPEB), Transatlantic, and Intra-Asia trade lanes

Established decision-maker network among U.S. importers/exporters across multiple sectors

Skilled in solution-based selling, with the ability to develop tailored logistics programs for complex customer requirements

Self-motivated, competitive, and results-driven, with strong negotiation and closing skills
