Business Development Manager – U.S. Freight Forwarding
Responsibilities:

Identify and secure new business opportunities across air, ocean, and trucking trade lanes targeting mid-to-large shippers within key verticals such as manufacturing, retail, and energy.

Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to penetrate competitive markets, leveraging consultative and solution-based selling to drive gross profit growth.

Manage full sales cycle including prospecting, qualifying, presenting, negotiating, and closing contracts with high-value clients.

Build and maintain strong C-suite and procurement-level relationships to secure repeat business and exclusive agreements.

Collaborate with operations, customer service, and compliance teams to ensure delivery excellence aligned with client expectations.

Monitor market trends, freight rate movements, and competitor activity to adapt sales tactics and maintain competitive positioning.

Provide detailed pipeline reporting and commercial insights to senior management to inform strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of direct freight forwarding business development experience with a proven track record of hitting or exceeding targets.

Deep understanding of U.S. trade lanes, international logistics flows, and freight forwarding service offerings.

Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.

Proficiency with CRM tools such as Salesforce or CargoWise.

Self-starter mentality with strong commercial acumen and resilience in a competitive sales environment.
