Business Development Manager – Air & Ocean Freight
Location: USA (Remote or Regional Office-Based)
Overview:
A global freight forwarder is seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager to spearhead new customer acquisition across international air and ocean freight services. This is a pure hunter role, focused on driving net new business and building strategic client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:

Identify, target, and close new business opportunities across FCL, LCL, and airfreight

Develop and manage a qualified pipeline across key verticals including industrial, retail, manufacturing, and consumer goods

Lead client meetings, solution presentations, and commercial negotiations

Collaborate with pricing and operations to deliver tailored freight solutions

Consistently achieve GP targets and contribute to regional growth strategy
Ideal Candidate Profile:

Proven track record in international freight sales with a focus on new business generation

Strong understanding of global trade lanes, carrier networks, and Incoterms

Commercially driven, field-based, and motivated by performance metrics

Proficient in consultative sales, client discovery, and closing complex deals

Experience with CRM systems and structured sales reporting
