Import/Export Specialist – Chicago, IL
We are looking for an Import/Export Specialist with expertise in air or ocean freight to join our growing team in Chicago. This role will focus on account management, overseeing international shipments and ensuring seamless logistics operations for key clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage import/export processes for assigned accounts, ensuring timely and efficient shipment handling.
- Serve as the account manager, acting as the primary point of contact for clients.
- Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams to ensure compliance with international trade regulations.
- Handle shipment documentation, customs clearance, and issue resolution.
- Monitor shipments from origin to destination, keeping clients informed of status updates.
- Identify process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Experience in import/export logistics, specializing in either air or ocean freight.
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, documentation, and international trade compliance.
- Prior experience in account management, handling customer relationships and logistics solutions.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
