About the Role
We’re exclusively partnered with this firm to hire an experienced Customs Specialist to support their import operations. This is a 100% onsite position where you’ll handle customs entry processing and HTS classification for a wide range of commodities. You'll be part of a small, skilled compliance team that values accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement. The role is well-suited for a professional who thrives in a detail-driven, team-oriented customs environment.
Key Responsibilities
- File accurate and timely customs entries for air and ocean imports
- Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) in accordance with U.S. regulations
- Review and validate import documentation (ISFs, commercial invoices, packing lists, etc.)
- Coordinate with CBP, PGA agencies, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliant clearance
- Track shipments and proactively resolve any customs delays or holds
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and trade programs
Candidate Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in U.S. customs brokerage or import compliance
- Proven ability to classify goods using HTS and file customs entries end-to-end
- Familiarity with ACE, ABI, and various entry types (including informal/formal, FDA, USDA, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of import documentation
- Must be based in or willing to commute daily to Charlotte, NC
