Regional Sales Manager – Air & Ocean Freight
Location: Chicago & Midwest
Salary: Up to $120,000 Base + Commission + Benefits
An international freight forwarder is seeking a driven and commercially focused Regional Sales Manager to support growth across the Midwest, with a key focus on the Chicago markets.
This position is ideal for a true hunter with experience selling international Air & Ocean freight solutions and developing long-term client relationships across importers, exporters, and supply chain customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new Air & Ocean freight business across the Midwest region
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to onboarding and account development
- Target import/export customers across manufacturing, industrial, automotive, retail, healthcare, and related sectors
- Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers including logistics managers, supply chain directors, and procurement teams
- Work closely with operations and pricing teams to deliver tailored freight solutions
- Generate and manage quotations, RFQs, and customer proposals
- Maintain accurate pipeline activity and forecasting through CRM systems
- Attend customer meetings, networking events, and industry functions across the territory
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling additional logistics services including customs brokerage, warehousing, and domestic transportation
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience within international freight forwarding sales
- Strong knowledge of Air & Ocean freight services
- Proven track record of new business development and revenue generation
- Experience managing both SME and mid-market accounts
- Strong understanding of import/export supply chain processes
- Confident communicator with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a regional territory
- CRM and freight forwarding systems experience preferred
Preferred Experience
- Existing customer relationships within the Midwest market
- Experience selling across both Air Import/Export and Ocean Import/Export services
- Background working for a freight forwarder, NVOCC, or logistics provider
Package
- Base salary up to $120,000 depending on experience
