About the Role

A global logistics leader is seeking a Customs Brokerage Manager (LCB) to oversee import compliance and clearance operations at a key U.S. branch. This individual will hold an active U.S. Customs Broker License and be responsible for regulatory supervision, team leadership, and ensuring all customs entries and compliance procedures meet federal and client-specific requirements.

This is a strategic hire with direct oversight of customs operations across a high-volume gateway.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the license holder for the branch, ensuring all entries comply with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations

  • Oversee a team of entry writers, import agents, and customs operations personnel

  • Act as the escalation point for CF-28s, CF-29s, protests, PSCs, and regulatory inquiries

  • Manage CBP, PGA, and internal compliance audits, including corrective action planning

  • Maintain up-to-date SOPs, HTS classification protocols, and recordkeeping compliance

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with import, ocean, air, and warehouse teams to ensure end-to-end regulatory compliance

  • Interface directly with clients on trade compliance, entry processing, and shipment delays

  • Monitor performance metrics tied to clearance accuracy, timeliness, and team productivity

  • Train, coach, and develop junior brokers and entry writers

  • Stay informed of changes to CBP, FDA, USDA, EPA, and other PGA regulations


Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Active U.S. Customs Broker License (mandatory)

  • 7+ years of experience in U.S. import customs operations within freight forwarding

  • Strong knowledge of HTS classification, valuation, OGA requirements, and ACE systems

  • Prior experience managing teams and holding license supervision responsibility

  • Working knowledge of CargoWise or similar customs entry platforms

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage high-pressure client interactions
