The Domestic Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating domestic freight movements to ensure timely, cost-effective, and efficient delivery of goods. This role involves handling customer service, carrier communications, documentation, and problem resolution for shipments within the country.
Key Responsibilities:

Shipment Coordination:

Schedule, monitor, and track domestic freight shipments (LTL, FTL, intermodal, etc.).

Coordinate with carriers, drivers, and warehouses to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.

Maintain accurate records of all domestic shipments.

Customer Service:

Act as the point of contact for customers regarding domestic shipping inquiries.

Provide shipment status updates and resolve customer issues or complaints efficiently.

Documentation & Compliance:

Prepare and process necessary shipping documentation such as BOLs, PODs, and delivery instructions.

Ensure compliance with all DOT and domestic transportation regulations.

Carrier Management:

Develop and maintain relationships with domestic carriers.

Negotiate rates and confirm service agreements to ensure cost-effective transport solutions.

Problem Resolution:

Respond quickly to service failures, shipment delays, or damage claims.

Work proactively to avoid issues through preemptive planning and strong communication.

System Management:

Enter and manage shipment data in TMS (Transportation Management System).

Generate reports as needed for internal stakeholders.
