Company Overview
Altius Talent is partnering with a well-established freight forwarding and logistics company to identify an experienced Import Operator for their Doral, FL office. Our client provides international freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and supply chain solutions to a diverse portfolio of clients.

Position Overview
The Import Operator will manage the end-to-end import process for ocean and/or air shipments, ensuring timely, compliant, and accurate handling of freight from origin to final delivery. This role requires strong coordination skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle import operations from booking through delivery, including documentation, customs clearance coordination, and cargo release
• Communicate with overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, and clients to ensure smooth shipment flow
• Prepare and review import documentation (bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, ISF filings, etc.) for accuracy and compliance
• Track shipments and proactively resolve delays, discrepancies, or exceptions
• Coordinate with customs brokerage teams on entry filings and duty/tax calculations
• Enter and maintain shipment data in CargoWise, ensuring accuracy of files from creation through billing
• Ensure compliance with CBP regulations and other applicable import/export laws
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams

Key Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in ocean and/or air import operations within freight forwarding or logistics
• Hands-on CargoWise experience required
• Working knowledge of U.S. import compliance, customs processes, and ISF requirements
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a high volume of shipments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus, given the South Florida client base
