Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and submit customs documentation for air, ocean, and ground shipments.

Coordinate with importers, customs brokers, and freight forwarding teams to gather and verify required documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, etc.).

Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and apply the appropriate duties, taxes, and fees.

File entries electronically through systems such as ACE (Automated Commercial Environment).

Communicate with U.S. Customs and other government agencies (e.g., FDA, USDA) to resolve compliance issues and ensure smooth cargo release.

Monitor the status of customs entries and proactively resolve delays or holds.

Provide timely updates to clients regarding the status of their shipments.

Maintain accurate records of entries, correspondence, and regulatory documentation in accordance with company and legal retention policies.

Support the freight forwarding team with document preparation and customer service as needed.
