Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive compliance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Lead and mentor the compliance team, fostering a culture of ethical practices and continuous improvement.
- Monitor changes in U.S. Customs, FDA, and other government agency regulations, ensuring prompt updates to policies and procedures.
- Oversee the management of audits, investigations, and compliance reviews, providing solutions for regulatory challenges.
- Act as the primary point of contact with regulatory bodies, including U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
- Manage the C-TPAT program, ACE Portal activities, and other compliance programs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations and customer service teams, to drive compliance awareness and best practices.
- Provide regular reports to executive leadership on compliance metrics, risks, and program effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in customs compliance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of customs regulations, HTS classification, C-TPAT, ACE Portal, and other compliance-related platforms.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle complex regulatory challenges.
- Exceptional leadership abilities with a track record of building and managing high-performance teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on relationship-building and regulatory liaison.
