Altius Talent is partnering with a growing freight forwarding company in the Rosedale, NY area to identify an experienced Air Operator to join their operations team.

Position Overview

The company is seeking an Air Import/Export Operator to manage the end-to-end handling of air freight shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, timely communication, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and process air import and/or export shipments from booking through delivery
• Prepare and review shipping documentation, including AWBs, commercial invoices, and customs paperwork
• Communicate with airlines, overseas agents, and clients to track shipment status and resolve issues
• Ensure compliance with IATA, TSA, and customs regulations
• Enter and maintain accurate shipment data in the operating system
• Coordinate with customs brokerage and warehouse teams as needed
• Monitor shipments for delays and proactively communicate updates to clients

Key Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in air freight forwarding (import, export, or both)
• Proficiency with CargoWise required
• Strong understanding of AWB processing, customs documentation, and IATA regulations
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
