THE ROLE
A pure hunting role with a privately backed international freight forwarder operating across the major air and ocean trade lanes out of the Northeast.
The Northeast is one of the most active freight markets in the country. JFK, Newark, and the tristate corridor move significant volumes across TransPacific, Europe, and Latin America every day. If you know the market and have the relationships, the opportunity is there.
THE BUSINESS
An established international freight forwarder with a strong air and ocean product and the operational infrastructure to back it up.
Privately owned, commercially led, and set up to move quickly on pricing and decisions. The kind of business where a good salesperson can actually sell rather than spend half their week waiting on internal approvals.
The Northeast territory has room to grow and the business has the appetite to invest in the right person to go and take it.
WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVES
Hunting and closing new air and ocean freight business across the Northeast territory.
Building a book from scratch across mid-market and enterprise shippers in the tristate area and beyond.
Managing the full sales cycle from first conversation through to close.
Working with pricing and product teams internally to put together solutions that are competitive and executable.
Keeping pipeline and forecast reporting accurate and current.
WHAT YOU NEED
- A freight forwarding sales background with solid air and ocean experience out of the Northeast.
- A verifiable history of winning new business from scratch, not managing what was handed to you.
- Relationships with shippers across the tristate area and wider Northeast that are active and at the right level.
- Comfortable running your own territory, managing your own time, and closing without needing to be chased.
- The kind of person who knows the market well enough that prospects take the call.
THE PACKAGE
- $100,000 to $150,000 base salary dependent on experience.
- 15% commission from dollar one with no threshold.
- Full benefits package.
- Remote and field based with full autonomy over your territory.
