About the Company
Altius Talent is partnering with a well-established international freight forwarder to recruit a Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) to lead its Customs Brokerage operation in Miami.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Customs professional looking to step into a leadership position, overseeing a small team while remaining actively involved in customs brokerage operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance, maintaining excellent client service, and driving operational efficiency within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operations of the Customs Brokerage department.

Lead, mentor, and support a team of 2 Customs Entry Writers.

Ensure all customs entries are processed accurately and in compliance with CBP regulations.

Maintain and utilise your Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) qualification to support brokerage operations.

Review and approve customs entries where required.

Provide guidance on tariff classification, valuation, duty calculation, and country of origin.

Ensure compliance with all CBP regulations and Partner Government Agencies (FDA, USDA, EPA, FCC, CPSC, etc.).

Handle complex customs issues, audits, post-entry amendments, protests, and compliance matters.

Maintain strong relationships with clients, customs officials, and internal stakeholders.

Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.

Support process improvements and best practices within the department.

Work closely with Air, Ocean and Warehousing teams to ensure smooth shipment flow.

Utilise CargoWise One to manage customs entries and operational workflows.
Requirements
-
Active U.S. Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) – essential.
-
5+ years of Customs Brokerage experience.

Previous leadership or supervisory experience managing a customs team.

Strong knowledge of:

HTS Classification

Duty Drawback
-
PGA requirements
-
Customs valuation

Post-entry processes

Experience using CargoWise One is essential.

Strong knowledge of FDA, USDA, EPA, FCC, TSCA, Lacey Act, CPSC and other PGA requirements.

Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and leadership abilities.
