Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) to manage and oversee their customs brokerage operations in New York. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with CBP regulations, leading a team of entry writers and brokerage staff, and serving as the primary point of escalation for complex classification, valuation, and compliance matters. The ideal candidate combines strong technical customs knowledge with proven leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily customs brokerage operations, ensuring timely and compliant entry filing
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of entry writers and brokerage staff
- Review and approve complex classifications, valuations, and entries prior to filing
- Serve as primary liaison with CBP on compliance matters, audits, and inquiries
- Monitor regulatory changes and update internal procedures to maintain compliance
- Partner with sales and account management teams to support client relationships and resolve escalated issues
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Active Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) license required
- Minimum 10+ years of customs brokerage experience
- Strong working knowledge of CBP regulations, HTS classification, and entry procedures
- Proficiency with brokerage/entry systems
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
