Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Customs Entry Writer to join their brokerage team in New York. This role is responsible for preparing and filing accurate customs entries, ensuring compliance with CBP regulations, and supporting the wider brokerage operation with day-to-day entry processing. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented professional looking to grow within a customs brokerage environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file customs entries accurately and within required timeframes
- Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)
- Verify entry documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to submission
- Communicate with CBP, carriers, and internal teams to resolve entry discrepancies
- Monitor shipment status and proactively flag potential compliance issues
- Maintain organized records in line with CBP recordkeeping requirements
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in customs entry writing or brokerage
- Working knowledge of CBP regulations, HTS classification, and entry procedures
- Proficiency with brokerage/entry systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
