Business Development Manager – International Freight Forwarding (Air & Ocean)

We are representing a leading mid-sized freight forwarder with a national footprint and strong financial backing, actively hiring a high-performing Business Development Manager to drive growth across international air and ocean freight services.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and close new business opportunities across Air and Ocean freight products, with a focus on both SME and mid-market clients.

Build a sustainable pipeline of qualified prospects through cold outreach, referrals, and market intelligence.

Coordinate with internal operations teams to ensure smooth onboarding, routing, quoting, and execution of client shipments A to Z.

Negotiate rates with carriers and clients while ensuring healthy GP margins and long-term account value.

Provide detailed sales forecasts, activity reporting, and CRM updates aligned with national sales leadership.

Maintain high visibility across trade lanes, especially TPEB, Europe, and Latin America, with flexibility to support domestic and cross-border movements as needed.
Requirements:

Minimum 3 years in international freight forwarding sales (Air and Ocean).

Proven record of GP production, client wins, and meeting annual revenue targets.

Strong understanding of Incoterms, documentation, compliance, and end-to-end freight cycle.

Skilled in consultative sales, pipeline building, and negotiating multimodal solutions.

Comfortable in a hunter-style role with minimal hand-holding and a mandate to grow.
