Location: Chicago, IL
Salary: $50,000 – $60,000 + Benefits
Altius Talent is partnering with a well-established international freight forwarder in Chicago to recruit an experienced Air Export Operator. This is an excellent opportunity for an Air Freight professional who enjoys managing export shipments from start to finish in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of international Air Freight Export operations and be confident handling shipments independently from booking through to final delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manage Air Export shipments from A-Z
- Coordinate bookings with airlines, overseas agents and customers
- Prepare and process all export documentation accurately
- Arrange collections and ensure shipments meet customer deadlines
- Handle TSA compliance and security requirements
- Process Dangerous Goods (DG) shipments in accordance with IATA regulations
- Track and monitor shipments, providing proactive updates to customers
- Resolve operational issues and maintain excellent customer service
- Work closely with internal departments and international offices to ensure smooth shipment execution
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience within Air Freight Export forwarding
- Strong knowledge of A-Z Air Export operations
- TSA certified or experienced working within TSA compliance requirements
- Current Dangerous Goods (DG) certification
- Experience using CargoWise One is preferred, although knowledge of the system will also be considered
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple shipments simultaneously
