Overview
An established international freight forwarding and logistics organization is seeking a commercially driven Regional Vice President to lead and expand its West Coast operations across the United States.
This position carries full responsibility for regional commercial performance, operational leadership, strategic growth, and P&L management across multiple branch locations. The successful individual will be expected to drive market share growth, strengthen customer relationships, improve operational efficiency, and build a high-performance regional culture.
The role requires an experienced executive with a strong background in international freight forwarding, regional leadership, and multi-site operational management within Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Customs Brokerage, and Supply Chain solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the regional growth strategy aligned with corporate objectives and long-term commercial targets.
- Identify new revenue opportunities across international trade lanes, industry verticals, and strategic customer segments.
- Provide leadership, structure, and accountability across branch management, operations, and commercial teams.
- Support long-term expansion initiatives, market penetration, and organizational scaling across the West Coast region.
Sales & Business Development
- Drive regional business development initiatives focused on new customer acquisition and strategic account growth.
- Partner with senior leadership to expand key accounts and strengthen long-term customer retention.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing sales professionals across the region.
- Build executive-level relationships with customers, overseas partners, carriers, and vendors.
- Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, pricing trends, and customer demands to support commercial positioning.
Financial Management
- Maintain full regional P&L responsibility with accountability for revenue growth, profitability, and margin improvement.
- Analyze operational and commercial performance metrics to identify efficiencies and performance gaps.
- Implement cost-control initiatives while maintaining service quality and operational stability.
- Ensure regional financial objectives and KPI targets are consistently achieved or exceeded.
Operational Oversight
- Oversee day-to-day regional forwarding operations across Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Customs Brokerage, Warehousing, and Distribution.
- Ensure compliance with all domestic and international transportation regulations and company policies.
- Drive operational best practices, process standardization, and supply chain optimization initiatives.
- Support automation, workflow improvements, and operational scalability across branch locations.
Leadership & Team Development
- Build and maintain a high-performance, customer-focused regional culture.
- Lead, coach, and develop management teams across multiple office locations.
- Establish clear performance expectations, accountability measures, and succession planning initiatives.
- Promote collaboration between commercial and operational departments to support long-term regional success.
Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years of leadership experience within international freight forwarding or global logistics.
- Proven success managing multi-branch regional operations within the United States.
- Strong commercial background with demonstrated success in business development and account growth.
- Experience managing regional P&L performance and operational budgets.
- Advanced understanding of international Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Customs Brokerage, and supply chain operations.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience building and developing high-performing commercial and operational teams.
- Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Background
- Experience leading operations across the West Coast market.
- Existing industry relationships across international forwarding and logistics sectors.
- Background within large multinational freight forwarding organizations preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
