Sea Freight Import Customs
Location: Bremen/Hamburg/Remote

Altius is working with a well-established German freight forwarder that is looking to strengthen its team with an experienced Sea Freight Import Customs Specialist.

This role can be based in Bremen or Hamburg, with the option for remote working for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Handling all aspects of customs clearance for sea freight imports, ensuring compliance with German and EU regulations
Preparing and submitting relevant customs documentation in a timely and accurate manner
Liaising with clients, carriers, and customs authorities to resolve any clearance issues
Advising customers and colleagues on customs procedures, tariff codes, and duty calculations
Supporting continuous improvement of customs processes within the team

Requirements

Proven background in sea freight import customs within a freight forwarding or logistics environment
Strong knowledge of ATLAS and German customs legislation
Fluent German language skills (spoken and written) are a must
Detail-oriented with strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to work remotely or from Bremen/Hamburg offices
