Altius Talent is partnering with a growing German freight forwarder seeking an experienced Sea Freight Import Operator to join their team based in Hamburg. With two offices in Germany and six additional locations worldwide, the company offers international reach and long-term career development.
Position Overview:
As a Sea Freight Import Operator, you will be responsible for managing the full import process for ocean freight shipments. This hands-on operational role involves coordination with clients, carriers, and customs to ensure timely and efficient movement of goods. You will play a key part in ensuring excellent service delivery to key accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate end-to-end sea freight import operations
- Manage customs documentation and clearance procedures
- Liaise with shipping lines, carriers, and partners to arrange inbound transport
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding shipment status
- Handle invoicing, data entry, and system updates
- Resolve any operational issues or delays efficiently
- Work closely with the export and logistics teams to ensure seamless supply chain flow
Requirements:
- Proven experience in sea freight import operations within a freight forwarding company
- Strong knowledge of customs procedures and import regulations
- Proficient in logistics systems and MS Office
- Excellent communication skills in both German and English
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
