Sea Import Clerk – Hamburg
Salary: €50,000 – €58,000 (depending on experience)
Hybrid: 3 days office / 2 days home office
On behalf of a small to midsized international freight forwarder, we are seeking an experienced Sea Import Clerk to join their Hamburg branch. You will become part of a close-knit operations team of five currently consisting of 2 import clerks and 3 export clerks where teamwork and collaboration are key.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full sea import process from start to finish
- Handle all related import documentation and customs procedures
- Liaise with shipping lines, customs authorities, and clients to ensure smooth cargo flow
- Monitor shipments and provide proactive updates to customers
- Resolve any operational issues promptly and efficiently
- Maintain accurate records in line with company procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience in sea import operations within freight forwarding
- Strong understanding of documentation and customs clearance processes
- Fluent German language skills (written and spoken)
- Excellent organisational and communication abilities
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficiency in MS Office and relevant freight forwarding systems
