Midwest Regional Sales Manager – Air & Ocean Freight

Location: Chicago, IL
Salary: Up to $140,000 Base + Commission + Benefits

A global freight forwarding company is looking to hire an experienced Midwest Regional Sales Manager based out of Chicago. This is an opportunity to join a well-established international forwarder with strong operational backing, global network coverage, and continued investment across the U.S. market.

We are looking for a commercially driven sales leader with a strong background in international freight forwarding who can both develop new business and lead regional commercial growth across the Midwest.

Responsibilities

  • Drive regional sales growth across Air Freight, Ocean Freight, and integrated logistics solutions
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans across the Midwest region
  • Manage, mentor, and support a team of Sales Executives / Business Development professionals
  • Identify and win new business opportunities across key verticals including industrial, manufacturing, automotive, retail, pharma, and consumer goods
  • Build and maintain relationships with shippers, importers, exporters, and supply chain decision makers
  • Work closely with pricing, operations, and leadership teams to deliver tailored logistics solutions
  • Manage RFQs, contract negotiations, pricing strategy, and customer implementation processes
  • Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and forecasting through CRM systems
  • Represent the company at industry events, networking opportunities, and client meetings

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience within international freight forwarding sales
  • Previous leadership or regional sales management experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Air & Ocean Freight forwarding operations and commercial strategy
  • Proven track record winning and developing new business within the Midwest market
  • Existing customer relationships and transferable business highly advantageous
  • Experience managing strategic accounts and large customer relationships
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel regionally as required
