National Key Account Manager

Position Summary

Responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of strategic national accounts across Air, Ocean, Customs Brokerage, and domestic logistics services. The role focuses on building long-term customer relationships, increasing revenue, retaining existing business, and identifying new opportunities through a consultative approach. Working closely with operations, pricing, customer service, and senior leadership, the National Key Account Manager ensures exceptional service delivery while driving profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop relationships with strategic national accounts.
  • Retain and grow existing business through regular account reviews and commercial planning.
  • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities across the company's service portfolio.
  • Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and commercial renewals.
  • Coordinate with operations, customer service, and pricing teams to ensure service excellence.
  • Resolve customer issues and act as the primary escalation point.
  • Monitor account performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare forecasts, business reviews, and sales reports for senior management.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity within the CRM.
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain account management.
  • Strong knowledge of Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Customs Brokerage, and domestic transportation.
  • Proven ability to manage high-value customer relationships and grow existing business.
  • Commercially focused with strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organisational abilities.
  • Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel nationally as required.
