Position Overview:

We are seeking a commercially driven and strategic National Key Account Manager to oversee and develop key air and sea freight accounts across Germany. Based in Frankfurt, you will act as the primary point of contact for strategic clients, ensuring high levels of service, retention, and growth. You will collaborate closely with operational teams, pricing, and product management to deliver tailored logistics solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for national key accounts across air and sea freight

  • Develop and execute account strategies to drive retention, growth, and profitability

  • Act as a strategic advisor, understanding clients' logistics needs and providing value-driven solutions

  • Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and service level agreements

  • Coordinate closely with operations, customer service, and global account teams to ensure service excellence

  • Regularly visit clients and conduct quarterly business reviews

  • Monitor KPIs, identify service gaps, and implement continuous improvement strategies

  • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within the existing client base

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on RFQs and tenders

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in key account management within the freight forwarding industry

  • Strong knowledge of air and sea freight operations and market dynamics

  • Proven track record in managing high-value accounts and developing strategic partnerships

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

  • Fluent in German and English (written & spoken)

  • Willingness to travel across Germany for client meetings

  • Commercial mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
