About the Role
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented Import Specialist with a passion for smooth, compliant, and timely freight operations. You’ll manage all aspects of import logistics — from pre-alert to final delivery — ensuring accuracy in documentation, communication, and customer service. Working closely with carriers, customs brokers, and clients, you’ll play a key role in keeping international shipments moving seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate end-to-end import operations via air and ocean

Manage and review commercial invoices, bills of lading, ISFs, and customs documents

Communicate daily with customers, overseas agents, and carriers to ensure timely delivery

Track and trace shipments, resolving exceptions or delays proactively

Prepare and verify customs clearance documentation in compliance with U.S. regulations

Maintain accurate data in the TMS and ensure billing accuracy

Support process improvements to optimize import workflows
Candidate Requirements

Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in import operations with a freight forwarder or NVOCC

Solid understanding of U.S. import procedures, HTS classification, and compliance

Proficient in Cargowise, Magaya, or similar freight software (preferred)

Strong communication and organizational skills with customer service focus

Ability to handle multiple shipments and prioritize effectively

Must be based in or able to commute to Charlotte, NC
