About the Role
This is a full-cycle export position where you’ll manage shipments from A–Z across both air and ocean modes. You’ll be directly responsible for ensuring compliance with TSA and U.S. Customs regulations, while also handling dangerous goods shipments. The role offers variety and autonomy, with exposure to a wide range of clients and commodities. Initially onsite in Charlotte, you’ll have the option to move into a hybrid schedule once established.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage air and ocean export shipments from booking through to final delivery
- Prepare and review export documentation, including commercial invoices, HAWBs, and BOLs
- Coordinate customs clearance and ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and TSA regulations
- Handle dangerous goods documentation and shipment requirements
- Communicate daily with airlines, steamship lines, overseas agents, and customers
- Enter and track shipments in CargoWise (experience preferred)
- Proactively resolve shipment issues and provide high-level customer service
Candidate Requirements
- 3+ years’ export experience within a freight forwarding environment
- Strong knowledge of both air and ocean export processes (A–Z handling)
- Familiarity with TSA, U.S. Customs, and export compliance regulations
- Dangerous goods certification highly desirable
- CargoWise experience strongly preferred
- Based in the Charlotte, NC area, with ability to work onsite initially before moving hybrid
