About the Role

We are representing a leading global logistics provider seeking a Director of Sales for their Contract Logistics division. Reporting to the Vice President of Contract Logistics, this role is responsible for driving growth, expanding the client portfolio, and developing high-value domestic and international business opportunities. You will lead sales initiatives, foster strong customer relationships, and ensure operational excellence while aligning strategies with the company’s long-term goals.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in contract logistics or 3PL sales, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to inspire teams while delivering measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Meet or exceed assigned sales and budget targets.
  • Qualify, pursue, and close new client opportunities aligned with strategic growth objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, identifying opportunities for expansion.
  • Collaborate with sales support teams to target potential clients and develop winning strategies.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to strengthen long-term partnerships.

Operations & Strategy

  • Lead long-term planning initiatives to support overall business objectives.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, tracking service levels to ensure operational success.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Inspire, motivate, and mentor sales teams to achieve peak performance.
  • Lead by example, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and collaboration.
  • Support staff development through training, coaching, and performance reviews.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, internal leadership, and operational teams.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and externally, using strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Represent the company at industry events, promoting its reputation as a leader in contract logistics.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in contract logistics or 3PL sales.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Strong business acumen with proven success in sales growth.
  • Ability to travel extensively (domestic and international).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Culturally aware and able to work effectively with diverse teams and clients worldwide.
