This is a full-time, on-site position in Charlotte, NC, for an experienced Customs Entry Writer. The role involves managing the end-to-end customs clearance process for import shipments, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification, proficiency in Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) systems, and experience coordinating with various stakeholders to facilitate smooth import operations.
- Prepare and submit accurate customs entries for import shipments, ensuring timely clearance
- Classify commodities using the HTS and ensure compliance with CBP regulations
- Coordinate with clients, carriers, and government agencies to obtain necessary documentation and information
- Monitor shipment statuses and proactively address any issues or delays
- Maintain and update customer profiles, ensuring accurate billing and record-keeping
- Stay informed about changes in customs regulations and industry best practices
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in customs brokerage or import operations
- Proficiency in ACE and other customs-related software
- Strong knowledge of HTS classification and import compliance procedures
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Charlotte, NC area
