About the Role
This is a full-time, on-site position in Charlotte, NC, for an experienced Customs Entry Writer. The role involves managing the end-to-end customs clearance process for import shipments, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification, proficiency in Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) systems, and experience coordinating with various stakeholders to facilitate smooth import operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit accurate customs entries for import shipments, ensuring timely clearance
  • Classify commodities using the HTS and ensure compliance with CBP regulations
  • Coordinate with clients, carriers, and government agencies to obtain necessary documentation and information
  • Monitor shipment statuses and proactively address any issues or delays
  • Maintain and update customer profiles, ensuring accurate billing and record-keeping
  • Stay informed about changes in customs regulations and industry best practices

Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in customs brokerage or import operations
  • Proficiency in ACE and other customs-related software
  • Strong knowledge of HTS classification and import compliance procedures
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Charlotte, NC area
