We are seeking an experienced Customs Entry Writer to join a highly respected, established, and rapidly growing asset-light international freight forwarder, NVOCC, and customs brokerage at their New York hub.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to handle diverse, end-to-end import workflows. You will be responsible for processing complex US Customs entries, managing account-specific global import lanes, and ensuring strict compliance with all federal guidelines while delivering high-level, boutique-style client support.

Core Industry Expertise

• US Customs Compliance, HTSUS Classification, CBP Regulations, Bonds & Duties.
• Ocean/Air Import Operations, Global Supply Chain, Multi-Commodity Trade Lanes.
• ISF Filing (10+2), FDA Compliance, USDA Guidelines, FWS Clearances, EPA Filing.
• Dedicated Account Support, Milestone Tracking, Exception Management.

What You’ll Handle

• Process and submit accurate, compliant US Customs entries via ABI for diverse ocean and air import cargo.
• Review commercial invoices, bills of lading, and packing lists for completeness, verifying accuracy and proactively resolving any documentation discrepancies.
• Execute precise HTS classification for various commodities and manage timely, accurate Importer Security Filings (ISF 10+2).
• Coordinate and submit required clearance and regulatory documentation to relevant Partner Government Agencies (PGAs) including FDA, USDA, FWS, and EPA.
• Liaise directly with CBP, PGA officers, steamship lines, and airlines to facilitate the smooth, compliant release of cargo and resolve any exam or hold issues.

What Matters (Requirements)

• 2+ years of hands-on entry writing experience within a customs brokerage or international freight forwarding environment.
• Proficiency in industry-standard brokerage software (CargoWise One experience is highly preferred).
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, HTSUS classification codes, and Partner Government Agencies (PGA/OGA).
• Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and excellent verbal/written communication skills for interfacing with clients and federal agencies.
