A growing and values-driven global logistics provider is seeking a Customs Brokerage Specialist to join their team. Established with a strong commitment to integrity and excellence, the company has built a reputation as a trusted leader in international freight forwarding and logistics.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  • Arrange customs clearance across all U.S. ports for inbound shipments on behalf of import clients.
  • Manage the end-to-end logistics flow from origin to final delivery, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
  • Apply knowledge of customs regulations and documentation requirements.
  • Maintain strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and clear communication (written and verbal).
  • Deliver a customer-focused approach in all aspects of the role.

Key Duties
  • Classify goods using Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) / Harmonized System (HS) codes to determine duties, taxes, and trade agreement eligibility.
  • Prepare, review, and submit customs documentation (invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, declarations).
  • Calculate and process duties, taxes, and associated fees.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, including trade agreements (e.g., USMCA), sanctions, and partner government agency requirements.
  • Coordinate with brokers, forwarders, carriers, suppliers, and authorities to facilitate smooth clearance and resolve issues.
  • Track shipments, ensure timely clearance, audit entries, and manage post-entry amendments or refund processes.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and conduct compliance audits and risk assessments.
  • Advise internal teams or clients on trade compliance, valuation, and special programs (e.g., duty drawback).
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate proactively to avoid delays or penalties.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field (preferred)
  • Ocean import/export experience (preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in import/export operations, customs brokerage, or trade compliance (required)
