Location: Düsseldorf
Salary: Up to €57,000 (depending on experience)
A leading global freight forwarder is seeking an experienced Air Import Clerk to join their growing team in Düsseldorf. This role requires a strong background in customs clearance and the ability to manage import shipments from arrival through to final delivery.

A leading global freight forwarder is seeking an experienced Air Import Clerk to join their growing team in Düsseldorf. This role requires a strong background in customs clearance and the ability to manage import shipments from arrival through to final delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage international air import shipments from origin to destination
- Handle all import documentation including AWBs, customs declarations, and clearance paperwork
- Process customs entries in compliance with German and EU regulations
- Liaise with customs authorities, brokers, and other relevant stakeholders
- Communicate with customers, ensuring timely updates and problem resolution
- Arrange final delivery and manage invoicing and cost control
- Work closely with other internal departments including operations, finance, and sales
Requirements:
- Prior experience in air import operations within a freight forwarding environment
- Hands-on customs clearance experience is essential
- Good understanding of import regulations and Incoterms
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple shipments under time pressure
- Familiarity with industry software (e.g., CargoWise, ATLAS, MS Office)
- Strong communication skills in both German and English
