Air Export Controller

About the Role
Our client, a global freight forwarder with a strong presence in the Chicago market, is seeking an experienced Air Export Coordinator to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in airfreight forwarding who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing end-to-end export operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily air export operations from booking through final delivery.

• Coordinate with airlines, overseas agents, and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective shipments.

• Prepare and process all export documentation (MAWB, HAWB, AES filings, Letters of Instruction, etc.).

• Ensure compliance with U.S. and international export regulations.

• Communicate proactively with customers regarding shipment status, exceptions, and problem resolution.

• Work closely with warehouse and trucking partners to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and cargo handoffs.

• Accurately enter data into the company’s freight management system.

• Support month-end reporting, billing, and file audits.
  
  Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in air export operations within a freight forwarding environment.
