Airfreight Forwarding Specialist (Imports & Exports, A-Z Operations)

About the Role:
Our client, a modern and forward-thinking freight forwarder, is seeking an experienced Airfreight Forwarding Specialist to manage end-to-end air import and export operations. This role requires a dynamic professional with strong industry relationships, comprehensive knowledge of airfreight processes, and technical proficiency with CargoWise.
Key Responsibilities:
- A-Z Airfreight Management: Handle all aspects of air import and export operations from booking to final delivery, including tracking, problem resolution, and customer updates.
- Carrier Relationship Management: Leverage existing relationships with airfreight carriers to secure competitive rates, space, and service levels.
- CargoWise Expertise: Utilize CargoWise to manage shipment visibility, documentation, and operational workflows.
- HAZMAT Compliance: Ensure proper handling, documentation, and compliance for hazardous materials shipments in line with IATA regulations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain adherence to TSA and other regulatory certifications, ensuring the security and compliance of all airfreight shipments.
- Customer Service & Communication: Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing timely updates and ensuring a smooth shipping experience.
- Problem Solving & Escalation: Address and resolve any operational challenges, delays, or issues that may impact service levels.
Key Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in Airfreight Forwarding (import/export, A-Z handling).
- Proficiency in CargoWise is essential.
- Strong network and established relationships with key airfreight carriers.
- Knowledge and certification in HAZMAT (IATA) regulations and TSA compliance.
- Proven ability to multitask and manage multiple shipments under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
